You remind me of a Maid What Maid? The Maid with the power What power? The power of voodoo Who do? You do Do what? Remind me of a Maid!

The day that I didn't bring my camera, was the day with a Maid rehearsal featuring some amazing images. We attempted to get up to the alarm clock, but didn't quite make it - not that it mattered as the physicalisations that we found were really dynamic.

- There is this amazing bit where Adam falls back against Jenko and then they both sway forward, like they are flying...then Jenko drops him. - It has everything that Simon was talking about, dynamic, strong, intimite. I think Claire and Solange's physical closeness, particularly wraping, is extremely important.

In my looking around the web, many of the images from various productions of The Maids (some film, some amateur) involve Claire and Solange really close, tangled together. Not just hand contact, arms really wraping around each other. For me, these are the images that seem particularly powerful.

What is more powerful than violence, and more powerful than affection? Violence masquarding as affection.

- Moving towards the climax of the first section there is a huge build up of tension. I have been thinking about it as a sort of channeling of dark powers. I can imagine a drum, or some other slowly growing sound effect (maybe they have to yell over it). Jenko did this amazing tense up, raising his arms into the air...then exploding into this really violent bit as the whole dynamic changes...love that bit.

- Idea: there is a particular point in the room, on the ceiling, that you look at and it sends cosmic energy to you and charges you up.

- Idea: maybe as Jenko is charging up, he could incant something very softly under his breath, a line repeated over and over, adding to the transe quality.

- Images that I'd love to see perhaps: Jenko pinning adam to the floor, stuff up against the walls, a reversal of the opening image with Jenko holding Adam's head.

- I had the thought just then that my role in this play is as a theatre nurse, a surgical theatre nurse. Having a range of research and tools ready in case we need them, and passing them to Si.

There is a possibility that not bringing my camera was good, because I felt like I was watching properly, and really thinking about the dramatic dynamics.
