inspiration strikes

I wrote out a schedule yesterday. But it was a schedule of fun things. Trek. Gaiman. Trek. Trek. Gaiman. Food. Gaiman. Gaiman. Food. Food. Food. Dawsons Creek.

But then, the new year reminded me, in it's whining voice, that i'm suppossed to get a job. And each passing hour my long term goals rotate, passing through scenarios in which I work for the BBC in london (doing something) and make frequent chanel trips on the TGV, the ABC, groovy melbourne webdesign firms with funky executive toys, academia, teaching, or buying a nando's franchise; some of which are exciting for good reasons and achievable, some which aren't. It's a matter of sorting one category for another.

And, I realised that I probably should be looking at the job add websites everyday, not just when inspiration strikes.

So many jobs involve copywriting/editing. What is copywriting/editing? Is copywriting just writing by another name, or something requiring tracing paper?

It doesn't seem like there are many media jobs that don't require a fair bit of writing. That's fine, except I look completely unqualified because the BCA was so non-writing.

Going back to do honours looks less and less appealing every day. But perhaps it's because I have no idea what its supposed to be like; what you actually do, and what my thesis would be. I suppose that's what my little reading list should fix.

Today:

trek
match girl dubbing
gaiman
french
gaiman
MAIDS LINES (don't forget boys)
then improvise
