They couldn't even raffle a chook in a pub
Because i'm a wee bit control freaky I tend not to react well when my plans a thwarted. For me, the ultimate frustrating experience is being worse off for having planned ahead. I'm all for rolling with the punches, but this kind of thing is analogous to rolling with a punch and landing on a nail, and getting tetanus....and dying...
A few uni related shinnanigans are hovering around today. Things like OSCAR giving out some non existant tutorial times, units who are able to be taken together but whose lectures clash, books off the booklist then on the booklist and then maybe i could have just downloaded them.
It's all just the administrative mess that happens when you mix universities together with wacky technology.
So note to self:
never buy anything or plan for anything until week 2 of each semester
OR
email unit chairs to double check that things are as they appear
It is not inconceivable, given my current plans, that one day I might find myself teaching or cordinating a unit at some tertiary institution. I want to make a pledge that in that event, I will make it my personal mission to safeguard against those kind of mixups as best I can. I need only remember my own experience as a student and keep in mind that anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
Now, I know what you're thinking that a) it's just a tiny little timetable problem Mark, get over it and b) it's probably nearly impossible for anyone to prevent admin mixups at Deakin.
I have no comeback for either of those thoughts.

Comments
I tell you what, perhaps I will defer my course until you get to the admin position.
The whole thing has been painful. I have been trying to organise a trip to Tassie (Those two cancelled audits) and no-one, not even the amazing Gunta can give me info on when tutes are.
So i am just going and will beg forgiveness later.
